Finding winnie: the true story of the world's most famous bear, by lindsay mattick

A woman tells her young son the true story of how his great-great-grandfather, Captain Harry Colbourn, rescued a bear cub in 1914 as he was on his way to World War I, and the bear became the inspiration for A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh.

This book won the Caldecott Medal - for the most distinguished Picture book of the year in 2016 - see the acceptance speech below.

i realy liked this book because it was cute and sad because the owner of winne put him in the zoo and it was sad it made me cry alittle
