Canvas is now available to all users in WCPSS!
Canvas is a Learning Management System that allows WCPSS staff and students to interact and collaborate in a secure environment. To access Canvas, go to http://my.ncedcloud.org and enter your UID and password. If you need assistance with your NC UID, follow your normal support procedures for technology related issues.

1. Where can I learn more about Canvas?
When you access Canvas, you will be enrolled in a course called Canvas 101. You can also access the Canvas Guides for lots more information. If you have additional questions, talk to your school's Canvas Coordinator (same person as your Blackboard Coordinator, which in our case, is Toni Kelley.
2. Do I need to move all my stuff from Blackboard/Edmodo/Google Classroom into Canvas?
You may do so, but it's not required. The exact process to move classes depends on the source - check out the Canvas Guides on the Course Import Tool for more info. Tips for migrating from Blackboard to Canvas will be coming soon.
3. I need to make some changes to my courses - how do I do that?
All classes are imported from PowerSchool, so however your classes are set up in PS is how they'll be set up in Canvas. Talk to your Canvas Coordinator (same person as your Blackboard Coordinator) if you have any more questions about classes.
4. I'd like to create a class for my PLT/Department/Club/etc. - how can I do that?
This isn't available to all users yet, but we're continuing to add more features. In the meantime, you can request new classes from your Canvas Coordinator (same person as your Blackboard Coordinator).
5. I heard that Blackboard is going away, is that true?
Yes, at the end of the 2015-16 school year. If you are currently using Blackboard, you may continue to do so. Just be sure to export any content you need to keep at the end of the school year. Use the Archiving a Course Tip Sheet if you need assistance.
